Remember That One Time, When We Went To Get Your Dog, And You Halfway Ran A Red Light??

So this last week was pretty boring. It was pretty much all work and craft and work and read, and I think I just fell asleep writing about it. The most exciting thing about the actual week was that Greg sent the kids CAMELS!! Celeste got a pink camel that she named Calorie (she later changed it to Kylie), and Caleb's camel is golden and named Bob, because he can say it. I make him say it every time I give it to him, he's so cute. "BOB!" Also every time he holds it, he spreads the front legs out so it hugs him. Goofball.

Another good time was when my friend Jiana came to see me and I helped her start making an apron and we had dinner together.

This weekend was pretty darn great too. And very very sad. I guess I should have known it was going to be something interesting when it got started Friday night and my neighbors got a puppy. It's soooooo cute. He's a little mini schnauzer named Semper. Also all my neighbors decided to have a big yard sale Sat and Sun mornings, so it seemed like the whole world was outside.

I got a babysitter all lined up so I could go see the Avengers movie with an old friend and Celeste. While I was getting ready, multiple police cars came to my street (again). There is some sort of conflict between some friends of mine and some neighbor that moved in a few weeks ago. It ended with my friends packing some bags and leaving. I am once again worried about Celeste, because her friend that she always plays with left. And it was very sudden, and so soon after her other best friend moved away. Now she gets to play with a handful of boys. The other vacant houses in the neighborhood finally got residents, but they are all older people and I have not seen any kids at all.

Anyways, after the movie, I hung out with my neighbors till bed time. Sunday was full of church meetings (regular service, then I'm taking a membership course), then more neighbor time. Today was the awesomest. I really didn't think it would be all that special, but I got to communicate with Greg for THREE HOURS STRAIGHT!!! OK, that doesn't SOUND as awesome as it actually was. You're gonna have to trust me, it was amazing. After that, I did laundry, scrubbed the kitchen and bathrooms, did an insanity workout, washed and vacuumed the car, had hot dogs at a neighbors, shot bb guns with kids (HAHA), had delicious chicken lasagna at another neighbors (I think I need to make dinner for every one next time, jeez!), and then we all went to Yogurtland for free frozen yogurt.

So.....don't mess with my neighborhood. We may have ax murderers, and crazy lying people on our street, but we also have a fine group of expert bb gun shooters. True Story.

Cheers and Tally Ho!

Bubblegum Gumbo

I think this was the LONGEST week EVER. It's been cold, cloudy, lonely, and miserable. Greg hasn't been calling this week, so that makes me worry.

BUT........there have been a few good times this week. On Wednesday, I woke up to sunshine. I feel like it's been so long since I've seen the sun and felt it's warmth. I took my little man to the beach for a little while for lunch before we had to pick up Celeste. He still has problems with walking on sand; he's just so terrified of it for some reason. I don't mind so much, I can put down a large blanket and not have to worry about him running off.

Thursday was a bit disappointing, I had plans to go to the beach with a friend, but of course it was cloudy and cold, and she wasn't feeling well on top of that. I was supposed to watch baby Noah for a few hours and told Celeste, who got soooo excited to see him, but he ended up not coming over. It was very sad to have to tell Celeste we weren't going to the beach or seeing Noah. So after dinner, I got her some frozen yogurt.

On Friday, my boss helped me at work, so when it was time to pick up Celeste from school, I got to take my little family to the beach, cause the SUN came out!

Then I TRIED to take a nice little family picture....here is attempt number one:

After a few more like that, I finally got one. It's not perfect, but oh well.

That night, I just was NOT hungry, or feeling much like making dinner. By the time it was dinner time, Celeste asked what was for dinner. When I said I didn't know, she started looking through the pantry and stated she wanted sandwiches for dinner. I told her to make them, and she was sooo excited. She even made Caleb's dinner.

Today was.......quiet. I just finished Celeste's pillow sham for her quilt, so I can finally reveal it.

I based my design off of my friend Tiffany's daughter's blanket. the owl design is all mine but the layout is about the same as hers.

What's next? Calebs quilt and pillow sham. His will be black white and blue to match Celeste's. Instead of owls, Caleb gets military convoy going across his blanket, and a formation of jets on his pillow. My goal is to get this done by the time Greg comes home, so when he gets here, we can get the kids bunk beds and I want their bedding to be ready. After that is easy stuff; window trimming and bow holder. Also Greg needs to make a gun rack for Celeste's gun.

I took the babies out to IHop for a treat. I always share my food with Caleb, and we were eating hash browns and sausage and eggs, then I put the plate to the side and bring the pancakes in front of us, and he yells, "YAAAAAAY!!!" so loud a few people looked and giggled at us. he's just so genuin and joyful, I love it! On the way home, I told Celeste she needs to scoop poop and she asked if she only does it Saturdays. I told her she could do it ANY day she wanted, even tomorrow. She replied, "I'm too busy to scoop poop tomorrow, mom. I have to do puzzles, and get ready, and go to church, and eat breakfast, and watch movies.........mom, I have to watch all the Harry Potter movies. I want to learn all about him. I saw one today and watched it TWICE because he is so handsom. I'm too busy to scoop poop tomorrow." Where the heck does she get it from?? So I'm watching Captain America now....ooh man is that guy handsom.

Anywho, have a super awesome day, all.

Reason Number Forty Two Why Greg Needs to Come Home Soon

I really don't care about gender specific play/toys. Kids have their own personalities and play with whatever the heck they want to. I'm not about to freak out if Caleb drags a barbie across the room by her hair. I don't care if he wants to snuggle with baby dolls. It doesn't bother me when he wants to wear Celeste's hair bands. He plays with cars and balls 90% if the time. Whatevs.

But tonight, he decided the toy of the evening was one of Celeste's purses. He didn't want to carry it around, he wanted it to go ON HIS SHOULDER. And even when I put him in PJs, he was still happily carrying around a purse. I know, it's so hard being the only boy in a house of girls. Or MAYBE........

It's a SATCHEL.

Goofballs

I have nothing in particular to say about this past week. So here are some pictures instead.

Caleb watching fish in the oven like a TV...he sat there for several minutes just staring at it.

Writing a letter to Daddy

Being Goofy....

Ooh! Ouch! Dragging your face on carpet doesn't feel good??

How about a kiss? Does that fix it??

And then there's the fact that these kids love each other. Seriously....they're best friends.

Did I mention that the kids got me a mini rose bush? And my loving husband got me a bouganvilla bonsai?? Aww my family loves me.

For mothers day, I got to take the kids to church. We all loved it. I also finished Celeste's quilt. Now to make her pillowsham and then start on Caleb's quilt.

Cheers and Tally ho!

Holy Burning Eyeballs, Batman!

Happy May! Huzzah!! It's weird, last time I checked, it was still MARCH, but considering that's the month HE left, I guess it makes sense that I try not to look at a calendar too much. Until it drop kicks me. In the face. Like...."It's MAY Beeyotch!" And then I'm left wondering what I've done with my time since March. Well....let's take a look at this previous week then.

Last time, I had pink eye. In both eyes. Which was SUUUPER FUUUN. The first week, they were red and teary and goopey. Then Saturday happened. Saturday, the sun was shining, and my eyeballs were feeling super AWESOME and I spent all day outside. All my neighbors were planting flowers, stealing trees, etc. So I decided to tackle to backyard. Now....Greg and I have just let it grow au natural...and let's see how that went.

I was playing around with the panorama, but that's besides the point. Nice, no? Well, I started weeking and cleaning off the patio, and I'm so glad I had my helper boy. So nice.

I went to Walmart and got red mulch and five pretty flowers. I wish I took a pic of when it was done, cause it looked so nice, but I wasn't thinking, and got a picture today. MOST of the flowers look nice, but one on the end seems to be the bane of Jack's existence. I don't think Jack likes the flower on the end. he seems to have trampled it. Aah well, I'll keep watering it and hope it grows back (cause it's an annual plant).

Aaaah it looks so sad!! Oh well.

Anyways, on Sunday I woke up and my eyes were BURNING! And light sensitive! AAH! Apparently thats a normal thing and just part of the healing process, but I really had the worst time, especially driving, which is something I do a lot for work. It didn't help that one eye was really bad, then when it got better, the other eye got bad. It was one of those suffer through it kind of thing. They're better now, the got better around Friday, but now things appear hazy in the light.

On Thursday, we got our new exchange! I picked up Celeste from school early (cause our neighbor's son had a fever and I offered to pick him up so we could meet up at the grand opening). It was fun, I really like the new MCX, and the fact that it's at the bottom of my hill makes it even awesome-er. Did I mention it has a yogurtland?? Self serve soft serve frozen yogurt?!  FOR SURE my new favorite place of ALL TIME.
Now.........I wanted a pic of a monster with my monster, but no way was Caleb gonna let this thing hold him, so I had my five year old take our picture. True story.

Pretty good, yes?
After that I headed over to grab a copy of Full Metal Jacket and waited in line to mee Gunny R. Lee Ermey. If you don't know who he is, you're probably not associated with the Marine Corps much.

Yesterday, May 5, we went back and saw this lil thing....

And it must have been very tiring for Caleb.

And this poor boy. He will be forever plagued with 4th of July shirts. I can't help it if nature and a little determination decreed that he was born on America's birthday. Americana shirts will be on his body till he's two decades old dang it!!

And that concludes this week's fun adventures. Now that I'm getting better REALLY, this should be the AWESOMEST WEEK. I'm determined, dang it.

Cheers and Tally Ho!!
